This week the Midnight Watchers watched another Katheryn Bigelow’s classic 1988 vampire movie, Near Dark. It was the first time they all got together in the studio and watched a movie and then did a podcast. They all agreed it was a great story and looked beautiful. And two of the watchers decided that being a vampire and living forever would be a great thing. One watcher didn’t. Can you guess who?

Movie Info:

Cowboy Caleb Colton (Adrian Pasdar) meets gorgeous Mae (Jenny Wright) at a bar, and the two have an immediate attraction. But when Mae turns out to be a vampire and bites Caleb on the neck, their relationship gets complicated. Wracked with a craving for human blood, Caleb is forced to leave his family and ride with Mae and her gang of vampires, including the evil Severen. Along the way Caleb must decide between his new love of Mae and the love of his family.

This week the Midnight Watchers watched another Dracula movie, this time watching the 1972 classic Dracula A.D. — the first time Dracula appeared in modern the modern age (well, the 1970s). All three enjoyed this movie and got into a spirited conversation about the history of vampire films and whether they liked zombies or vampires more.
