Midnight Watchers Episode #14: Kairo aka Pulse

This week the Midnight Watchers take a look at the 2001 Japanese horror film Kairo or Pulse (in America). Quentin calls it an existential horror film and it makes Koji sad because it reminds him how sad and Japan sometimes feels to him.

About Us

Koji wanted to impart all of his “wisdom” to his son. But of course, his son already thinks he knows more than me. So instead of trying to tell him now and having it go in one ear and out the other, he decided to record them here with the hopes that maybe… just maybe… when he’s ready he’ll listen to his advice in the future and not make the same stupid mistakes he did. He’ll also bring on guests to impart their advice as well.  Koji has no doubt their advice will be better than his.

Midnight Watchers Episode #13 Carrie

This week Midnight Watchers Koji Steven Sakai, Quentin Lee, and Jennifer Field watch the Brian De Palma 1976 cult-classic Carrie. I think they universally loved this movie, although there was some debate about some of the finer points of the movie. And of course, they went on a tangent, in this episode they talked about prom, specifically the difference between Canadian and American proms.

Guy Code Episode #21 Life Advice with Brian Watters

Hosts Koji Steven Sakai brings one of his best friends music producer Brian Watters. They both gave life advice and how it helped them in their own respective creative careers. Brian mentioned something that Koji needs to work on which is forgiving others/themselves. I have a feeling lots of us need to do that! And of course, Koji’s last advice is to masturbate regularly — which is the second time he’s mentioned that one! Enjoy the episode and tell us which was your favorite piece of life advice!
